Xiaomi continues to sell its first electric car rapidly in China. Xiaomi SU7, which has received more than 75 thousand orders, is currently one of the most talked about models in China. However, an incident shared on social media made a big echo when the SU7 was left on the road in a short time.
Xiaomi SU7 broke down as soon as it left the factory
A Chinese user reported that his Xiaomi SUV broke down after only 39 kilometers and left him stranded. The owner stated that he received the SU7 standard version from the company’s official showroom last week.
The post, which became an agenda in China in a short time, was also reflected in the world press. In the video, it was stated that the vehicle suddenly became undriveable after leaving the center. It allegedly stalled after traveling only 39 kilometers.
The owner, who filed a complaint with Xiaomi, said he received a positive response from the company. However, he asked that the model be replaced with a new vehicle instead of being repaired. Xiaomi fulfilled this request by saying that they would give the user a replacement SUV.
It is not yet clear when the replacement vehicle will be available. However, Xiaomi’s acceptance of the problems in the first electric vehicle production did not go unnoticed. This draws attention to the problems that new automakers may experience when moving to mass production.
On the other hand, the new competitive conditions in the market are decisively shaping the future dynamics in the electric car sector. It remains to be seen how Tesla and other automakers will respond to Xiaomi’s moves and how the electric car market will evolve.
