As demand for tablets with paper-like screens increases, one of Lenovo’s soon-to-be-released tablets is preparing to enter this category with better features than an average E-Reader.
Features of the Lenovo Tab M12 Matte Display Model
Lenovo is working on a new Tab M12 model with a matte, paper-like screen, similar to E-Readers. The leaked model follows the technical specifications of the current M12, except for the screen.Instead of a glossy panel, the Tab M12 Matte Display tablet comes with a 12.7-inch anti-glare LCD screen with a resolution of 2944 x 1840.
One downside of the new screen type is that it limits the refresh rate to 60Hz.While this won’t facilitate tournament-level gaming, it also won’t hinder watching movies and playing lighter mobile games.
The screen type is likely to ensure quite good battery life as well. The Tab M12 Matte Display will ship with Android 13 and will be supported up to Android 15. Additionally, Lenovo will provide four years of security updates until 2027. Inside, Lenovo’s E-Reader tablet will come with a MediaTek 7050 SoC, 8GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.
The Tab M12 Matte Display tablet may not shake up the tablet market, but Lenovo’s option could make an impact in the E-Reader segment. If the reports are accurate, the M12 Matte will be a truly impressive tablet, whether used for drawing or media consumption. Paper screens are on the rise, and we are pleased with this development for our eye health.
