Microsoft has added classic games from the Call of Duty series to the Microsoft Store for PC. The December 9th listings include the first Call of Duty (with the United Offensive bundle), Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Will classic Call of Duty games be coming to Game Pass?
The games available on the Microsoft Store aren’t Xbox 360 versions, but completely remastered titles for PC. This suggests that Microsoft intends to breathe new life into iconic games. It was also stated that the games may eventually be available for Game Pass.
Each game is also priced the same as on Steam, at $19.99. “It’s a classic Call of Duty experience” reads the store page, while some cross-platform Xbox Network features may not be available.
The timing of these listings has led to speculation among the gaming community that these classic Call of Duty titles will soon be added to the Game Pass subscription service. This speculation makes sense, given that Activision classics like Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled were listed on the Microsoft Store before being added to Game Pass.
However, it’s important to note that listing the game on the Microsoft Store is no guarantee that it will be added to Game Pass. Games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 and Singularity are also listed on the Microsoft Store, but have yet to be added to the subscription service.
Meanwhile, Microsoft also announced the final Game Pass titles for 2024, including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Some gamers are hoping for a surprise at Game Awards 2024, which kicks off in a few days.
