Sea of Thieves, the open world piracy game and Xbox first party game developed by Rare, is coming to PlayStation 5 as you know. The PS5 release date of the game is officially announced.
Sea of Thieves is coming to PlayStation 5 in April with cross-platform support
Joining Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded and Pentiment, Sea of Thieves will officially launch on PlayStation 5 on April 30th. The game’s director Mike Chapman said the team is working hard on cross-platform support.
This is the first time in Rare’s nearly 40-year history that they will publish a game on the PlayStation platform, a significant milestone for them. Since its debut in 2018, Sea of Thieves has received significant updates and expansions, transforming it into a content-rich service game beloved by players around the world.
With the release of the PlayStation 5 version with all the content updates and expansions accumulated over the years, players will be able to dive into the world of Sea of Thieves from day one. Whether solo or with friends across platforms, PlayStation 5 players will be able to experience Sea of Thieves with all of the updates released to date.
The April 30 release for PlayStation 5 is also an important step for Xbox, as cross-console exclusives will have a major impact on the gaming industry.
Until now, the strategy of console companies has been to release console-exclusive games. However, it seems that both Sony and Microsoft now care more about the sales of their games than console sales.
