Google Meet, one of the world’s two most used meeting apps along with Teams, will get brand new AI-powered features. The company is preparing to introduce two very useful features that will be available for an additional fee.
AI-powered note-taking and real-time translation coming to Google Meet
The features coming to Google Meet will be available at an additional cost to Google Workspace and will allow users to take notes in meetings and provide real-time translation.
Google Meet’s “Take Notes for Me” feature will automatically transcribe meeting participants’ conversations, eliminating the need to take notes. This will make it easier to record important information during meetings, allowing participants to focus more effectively.
In addition, the “Translate for Me” feature to be added to Google Meet aims to overcome language barriers in multilingual meetings. With this feature, Google Meet users will be able to automatically recognize and translate what is being said in different languages.
While Google’s new features will initially be aimed at corporate users, they are expected to be rolled out to consumer-level Google products in the future.
Organizations such as educational and research institutions can take advantage of these new features to communicate more effectively and collaborate on projects. For example, institutions such as Pepperdine University can use Google Meet’s captioning feature to take important steps towards equity and accessibility.
To use these artificial intelligence features coming to Google Meet, a monthly fee of 10 dollars will be required. That corresponds to 322.42 TL at the current exchange rate as of the date of this writing. There is currently no word on whether Google will offer local pricing for this feature.
Google Meet already has a free subtitling and translation app, but as you can see in the animated images, that feature is not Gemini supported like this one. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
